Corona is a lager producing brand owned by a Belgian company, AB InBev. It was originated from Mexico, and Mexican Brewery Cervecería Modelo is its producer. Since 1998, one of its variants, Corona Extra, has been the best-marketed beer in the United States. Corona also has other variants like Corona Premier, Light, etc. Commercials for corona beers always end up relating to beaches or showcasing them.
Corona Extra vs Corona Premier
The difference between Corona Extra and Corona Premier is that Corona Extra has a higher amount of carbs as compared to Corona Premier. Corona Premier is lower in carbs as well as calories. The latter is a lighter version of all the other beers produced by Corona earlier and is smooth in taste.

What is Corona Extra?
Mexican Brewery Cervecería Modelo came up with a pale lager in partnership with the Belgian company AB InBev; Corona Extra. Within a very short span of time, the lager gained popularity and became a top-grosser in the U.S. Since 1998, it has not left its marketplace.
Originated from Mexico, Corona Extra has been successful in securing a good market value. The lager contains 4.5 per cent of alcohol by volume and is prepared from a mixture of corn, barley, hops, malt, yeast and some antioxidants as well. In order to stabilize it, Propylene glycol alginate is added, which resembles alcohol a lot in terms of chemical properties.
Corona Extra is available in a variety of packaging, bottle presentation being its main theme. It ranges from 207ml packaging to the one with 940ml. In some places, cans are also available. In Spain, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and the U.S., Corona Extra comes with different branding, i.e. Coronita, which means ‘little crown’. The smaller bottles generally have this branding.
The commercials for this beer came with a tagline of “Miles Away From Ordinary” initially. Now, it has changed to “Find Your Beach”. Over the years in Mexico, Corona has been a sponsor of boxing. But with time, its sponsorships reduced.
What is Corona Premier?
Corona Premier is yet another production of the brand Corona. It is a comparatively lighter lager that delivers a lusciously smooth taste. Just like all other Corona beers, this beer was also originated from Mexico.
Corona Premier as a lager has a hint of sweetness to it which makes it even more pleasant and satisfying. In addition to that, it is also low in carbs and calories. It contains 4 per cent of alcohol by volume. Barley malt, hops, yeast, unmalted cereals are the ingredients Corona Premier is made with.
Just like Corona Extra, the Premier comes in a variety of packaging. Even bulk quantities are available, which are best for events or big gatherings. After more than 30 years, Corona Premier was brought into the market by the Constellation brands in the U.S. It has a dry finish which makes it suitable to be consumed with seafood, grilled pork or chicken.
Corona Premier is not only unique in terms of its taste but also has a smooth texture and a golden hue. It most preferably caters to men over 35 years of age. Although newer to the market, it is gaining popularity gradually with time.
