They also provide an admin panel for managing services and users. Depending on the version of Google Workspace, it may also provide the digital interactive whiteboard Jamboard and options to buy such tools and features. They also have Google classroom as their learning platform. All these features and tools are free for people who use Google or have a Gmail account.

Google Workspace adds exclusive features like a customized email address at a domain, an option to have unlimited storage in your Google Drive, additional advanced tools and settings along with 24/7 customer support. When you register yourself with Google, all your data is directly saved and is transferred to other data centers to create a backup for you. Unlike other services, Google Workspace does not allow advertisements to pop up on your screen while they use Google services.

What is Zoho?

Zoho is an online office suite based in India which contains word processing, spreadsheets, pots, notebooks, Wikipedia, web conferences, management for customer relationships also known as CRM, etc. The Zoho office suite is created by the Zoho Corporation and was launched in the year 2005. It had a web-based word processor at the time of launch.

Additional features and tools like spreadsheets and presentations were added later on. The application of Zoho is distributed as SaaS which is an abbreviation of software as a service. For its writer, creator, and other planner products, the Zoho office suite uses an open programming interface application. It also provides plugins for Microsoft Word, Excel, Firefox, etc. It is an online site builder with a drag and drops feature providing web hosting, unlimited data storage capacity, webpages, and bandwidth.

They also have a wide variety of templates for websites on computer or mobile. Their CRM has features for accounting, inventory, and procurement. Zoho combined some of its applications with Google in the year 2009 which enable its users to use both the suites by logging in just once, but both the companies remain separate. In the year 2020, Zoho workplace came 1st in the challenge held in India which was “Atmanirbhar Bharat App Innovation” in the Office category.

Main Differences Between Google Workspace and Zoho

  1. When it comes to technical support, Zoho falls under Google Workspace as even though Zoho provides numerous features for their customers, they can’t match the 24*7 technical support provided by Google.
  2. In the privacy aspect, Zoho wins over Google Workspace as there has been no case registered about Zoho selling details of their users, whereas Google has received many warnings for a privacy violation. 
  3. In terms of storage, Zoho provides 5GB of storage to every user, whereas Google Workspace provides 30 GB to every user.
  4. Zoho does not provide the function of chatting, whereas Google Workspace has chat functionality.
  5. The services provided by Zoho are cheap or affordable as compared to the services of Google.

Conclusion

Therefore we conclude that both Google Workspace and Zoho provide the same features and functions and are very helpful cloud-based office suites that have helped many businesses and organizations to work even more efficiently. When we compare Google Workspace and Zoho, it turns out that the maximum population would prefer Google Workspace more as it is user-friendly.

Even though Zoho provides many integrations with social media apps like Facebook and Twitter and is cost-efficient, Google Workspace has taken over the industry for many years with its variety of features and functions that Zoho has not yet offered users. With better features and customer service Google Workspace stands above Zoho.
