The main difference between Muay Thai and Tae Kwon Do is that Muay Thai is originated from the country of Thailand, whereas Tae Kwon Do originated from Korea. Muay Thai involves solid, rough, and brutal kicks whereas, Tae Kwon Do involves fast kicks. These martial arts are rich in ancient history.

People need to understand that though the fighting is similar, Tae Kwon Do has specific nuances that differ from Muay Thai. 

Tae Kwon Do is used to refer to the martial arts that was originated from the country of Korea. This allows us to understand that the word Tae Kwon Do means the Art or way of kicking. The origins of the martial arts Tae Kwon Do can be traced back to the Three Kingdoms of Korea. The soldiers of those Kingdoms used to practice this martial art.

Martial arts are one of the popular forms of arts that is widely recognized across the globe. All those fight trainings that is systematized and organized can come under martial arts. All these forms of fighting involve almost the same goal, such as to protect oneself (self-defense), to protect oneself from danger, and so on. 

Muay Thai involves two to three kicking techniques, whereas the Tae Kwon Do contains many kicks. Some of them are snap kicks, sidekicks, axe kicks, etc. Muay Thai was originated from the country of Thailand, whereas the other one was originated from the country of Korea. Both have unique features that set them apart.
