Receivers and Amplifiers are some of the main components of a signal transmission system. Any type of signal transmission system, sound wave transmission, ultrasound, uses Receivers and Amplifiers for proper, directional transmission of waves with adequate power to reach the destination. A transmission is completed when waves from one transmitting device reach the destination device.

What is Receiver?

A Receiver is a central unit in a single transmission system such as a home-theater or loudspeaker system. it is the most crucial component in the functioning of such a system.

Thus the receiver can also be used to access the external devices after connecting to the integrated ports. This increases the ease of handling as all the devices become part of a single system.

What is Amplifier?

The amplifier is a component of the output unit in a signal transmission system, typically found inside the speaker unit. The amplifier is used for the modulation of the output signal.

Amplifier operates powering up the output signal. In a home-theater or loudspeaker system, the amplifier powers the output sound waves.

When the sound waves are given more power, the strength of the output wave increases, and thus a better sound wave is released through the speakers.

For increasing the strength of the output waves, amplifiers require a decent amount of power. Thus in external amplifier units, a separate and independent power connection is required.

In most home-theater systems, the amplifier is integrated into the receiver circuit and is directly connected to the speaker units. Individual speakers have individual amplifiers units for signal strengthening.
