Sandeep Bhandari

Sandeep

Nice to meet you!

I am Sandeep Bhandari; I have been married for 15 years and have 20 years of experience in the technology field. I have various technical skills and knowledge in database systems, computer networks, and programming. I have held various roles throughout my career, such as software developer, network administrator, and database administrator. I am well-established in technology and have a wealth of experience to draw from.

In addition to my professional background, I am interested in healthy eating. I like to eat lots of fruits, juices, and bakery products and thus prioritize my health and wellness while enjoying a little indulgence. In a nutshell, I value balance in my life and enjoy work and personal interests.

College degrees

I hold a Diploma in Computer Science as an undergraduate degree and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computers from Thapar University (2006) as a graduate degree. The curriculum includes coursework in computer programming, data structures and algorithms, computer organization and architecture, software engineering, theory of computation, and more. Additionally, students can take elective courses in specialized areas such as artificial intelligence, computer networks, databases, and human-computer interaction.

Continuing Education

I have a passion for learning and have been fortunate enough to earn certificates and take classes at reputable colleges even after completing my B.E. I have a certificate in Java Programming from Loyola College and one in Web Development from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education. Additionally, I have audited various mobile phone programming and graphics courses from prestigious institutions, including my alma mater.

  • Artificial Intelligence (Thapar University)
  • Computer Networks (Thapar University)
  • Database Systems (Amity Institute of Information Technology)
  • Software Engineering (Amity Institute of Information Technology)

Handling Corporate Finance

For about a decade, I gained a wealth of IT experience, holding junior and senior positions in various corporate settings. I had the opportunity to lead and manage projects for notable companies such as Siemens, TCS, Oracle, and Cisco. One particularly notable project I oversaw at TCS involved managing a team of 80 full-time employees and 30 interns. The challenges I faced in these roles as a senior software developer allowed me to sharpen my programming and analytical abilities. I am grateful for the diverse range of experiences I gained during my tenure in the corporate world.

Teaching Computer and Mobile Programming Courses

I began instructing at local educational institutions while I was still in college and continue to do so till now. The most enjoyable place for me to teach is in a Sunday school class, community group, or smaller group setting.

My first teaching experience outside the college was with Jawaharlal Nehru University. Through JNU, I taught mobile phone development (specifically Android and iOS development) courses to technical teachers needing continuing education credits.

College Professor

While working, I began teaching as an adjunct professor at a local technical college. This experience led me to teach at an IT school as an adjunct professor. I eventually became an administrator at the same school. I have taught nearly 30 undergraduate courses, mostly data structures, programming, graphics, and computer networks. My favorite classes to teach include:

  • Cybersecurity: This specialization protects computer systems and networks from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction. It involves understanding and implementing security protocols, cryptography, and network security.
  • Graphics and Vision: This specialization covers the field of computer graphics and computer vision, including topics such as image and video processing, computer animation, and augmented reality.
  • Human-Computer Interaction: This specialization is focused on the design and evaluation of interactive systems, including user-centered design, usability testing, and interface design.
  • Data Science: This specialization focuses on extracting insights and knowledge from large and complex datasets. It involves using statistical and machine learning techniques and programming skills to analyze and interpret data.
  • Artificial Intelligence: This specialization focuses on the development of intelligent systems and software, including topics such as machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and robotics.

Academic and Learned Societies

Professional organizations are dedicated to promoting and advancing the field of computer programming and its related subjects, such as AI, Machine Learning, and Web Development. These societies consist of members from academia, such as scholars and teachers, and other individuals interested in the field. These members participate in activities such as publishing research, attending conferences, and collaborating with peers to drive advancement and enthusiasm for their study area. As for myself, I am a member of the following societies:

SocietyAbout
ACM (Association for Computing Machinery)The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is a professional organization for individuals in computer science and technology. Founded in 1947, it is one of the oldest and largest organizations.
Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI)The Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the field of artificial intelligence (AI). It was founded in 1979 and is one of the oldest and most well-established organizations in the field of AI.
IEEE Computer SocietyThe IEEE Computer Society is a professional society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) focused on computer science and technology. It is one of the largest technical professional societies in the world, with over 90,000 members in more than 160 countries.

Writing

I have always had a keen interest in writing. For example, I have written an article about SSD, HDD, and NVMe. I began exploring the world of online writing about a dozen years ago and found it very fulfilling. I appreciate the blend of the creative process of content creation with the technical aspects involved.
