Nissan Titan vs RAM 1500: Difference and Comparison

Several vehicles are used for various purposes, and hence several automobile companies from all across the world have created a separate line of vehicles to cater to these needs, or there are simply companies who manufacture vehicles for a specific niche only.

These vehicles could be for personal transportation, light, and heavy goods, etc.

A small truck transports light goods; home furniture delivers items locally, etc. The need for these small trucks is not just limited to rural areas but also spread across urban areas, where delivery people, packers and movers, etc., use them.

What is Nissan Titan?

Nissan Titan is a pickup truck targeted for use in the North American market and is manufactured by the Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan.

The name Titan comes from the mythology of the Titans of Greece. One can understand that the word Titan here denotes the strength the truck possesses and delivers a lot of power to get any job done.

The first Nissan Titan was designed in September 1999. There was a design and exterior selection, after which a production freeze was in 2001.

In the Detroit Auto Show of 2001, the model of the Titan displayed laid the ground for all the future models made under this line, which bore a resemblance to the original model back in 2001.

In 2003, when production was started, the Nissan Titan utilized Nissan’s F-Alpha platform. This platform was common usage by other SUVs manufactured by Nissan.

Nissan believed their design of the Titan was so solid that all other future models did not need redesigning until 2015.

Initially, there was a plan to bring about a second generation of the Titan in 2008; however, those plans were scrapped due to the economic recession.

Then the second generation came through in 2019 with a more powerful 5.6-litre V8 engine. In 2020, the company introduced the Titan and the heavier Titan XD.

What is RAM 1500?

The RAM 1500 is a pickup truck manufactured by FCA US LLC. However, this truck is marketed under the RAM Trucks brand. This car was also used to be known as the Dodge RAM 1500 until the year 2010.

This was until RAM was still a part of Dodge, and its range of light, small trucks. Earlier RAM has seen a history of various powerful engines, ranging from V6 to V10.

However, the current-day RAM 1500s feature a diesel V6 and a mild hybrid V8. There is also a supercharged V8 which delivers more power than the standard 1500.

RAM 1500 features rear-wheel drive and a good mileage of about 20mpg, but that is only in the city. The highway is where these vehicles are needed, and on the highway, these trucks give an increased mileage of about 25mpg.

Handling these trucks is an issue, but this is no fault of the RAM, as they are a problem to any large trucks due to their size and power; however, this truck still manages to be stable and deliver decent handling.
