What is a Cheeseburger?

A cheeseburger, as suggested by the name, is a variety of burgers invented by McDonald’s whose major ingredient is cheese. The cheese used in the cheeseburger is American, however, certain other types of cheese can also be used. 

The bun used in the cheeseburger is a regular bun that is made up of regular ingredients. The patty used in the cheeseburger is made up of beef and no other added meat.

Apart from the beef patty, other ingredients used in the preparation of McDonald’s Cheeseburger are slices of processed cheese, ketchup, slices of pickle, onions, mustard, and mustard seeds. 

The burger is prepared by putting it on a flat grill after seasoning with a special grill seasoning which includes ingredients like sunflower oil, which is used for a purpose of a processing aid, pepper, and salt.

Lastly, the burger is topped with a slice of half-melted processed American cheese.

The quarter Pounder burger was invented by Al Bernardin. He was a franchise owner in California at the time he invented the quarter Pounder burger, however, apart from that, he was also an American restaurateur and a businessman as well.

Al Bernardin earned a lot of popularity for inventing the quarter Pounder burger and he also earned the title of ‘Fremont’s hamburger king’ for the same.

The major ingredients used in the preparation of McDonald’s Quarter Pounder burger are two slices of a quarter pounder sesame seed bun, pasteurized and processed American cheese, ketchup, slices of pickle, onions, mustard sauce, and lastly, 100% beef patty.

Moreover, McDonald’s claims that the patty used in the Quarter Pounder burger is made up of 100% beef and no other artificially added fillers or extenders. Their beef patty is also USDA inspected and they have claimed it to be 100% pure. 

Though the burger has no such artificial allergic substances, it has a few common allergens in it just like any other common burger.

Those allergens are wheat, which is a part of the sesame seed bun, and milk and soy sauce, which are a part of processed American cheese.
