Toyota Innova vs Mitsubishi Xpander

The difference between Toyota Innova and Mitsubishi is that the parent company of Innova is Toyota Motors, whereas Xpander is manufactured under Mitsubishi Motors. It comes with a huge sitting capacity of 7 seats and also provides a cylindrical diesel engine with bipolar works. The colors of the Toyota Innova are also too fascinating, and the shiny finish makes it much more glorious.

What is Toyota Innova?

Manufactured by the Japanese automaker, Toyota Innova comes as a desirable and compact MPV. It was first manufactured in the year 2004, under the guidance of Toyota company in Indonesia.

The body style of the car is stylish, and it has a 5-door wagon. This car was named after the English word ‘Innovation’, which means something new.

This desirable car has been globally successful and is famous mainly in countries like India, Thailand, the Philippines, Myanmar, Egypt, Argentina, etc.

However, this ‘Innova’ was a successful replacement for the Toyota Kijang. In August 2004, it was the first test-driven in Indonesia, and then it successfully climbed heights. 

The engine is the heart of any automobile. It’s easy to adore the look when you are unaware of the power generator that lies beneath the bonnet.

It has a diesel engine, which provided a powerful mileage of 16 km per litre, probably considered as too good. After the reintroduction of the car, it got renewed with a double-blower air conditioner.

The dashboard also has a 2DIN CD and cassette player.  

However, the features that attracted the buyers to this beauty are redesigned headlights attached with bonnets and bumpers and a superb interior.

In addition to that, Toyota has shown no compromise in its comfort. A highly spacious and streamlined aluminum frame, stands out when all these are put together.

What is Mitsubishi Xpander?

Powerfully structured by Mitsubishi motors and manufactured in Indonesia, the Xpander is a seven-seater compact MPV. This car was first produced in 2017 and is also called the Nissan Livina in some localities.

The designer car was Tsunehiro Kunimoto and contained the body style of 5 door wagon. 

In recent times,  Indonesia has been the main hub of manufacturing Mitsubishi, but they export it globally. Since July 2020, Mitsubishi Motors has been assembling the parts in Vietnam City also.

However, Xpander also comes with a variant named Xpander Cross, a crossover of standard Xander. 

The redesigned grille, the rear bumpers, and the restyled font provide a new look to the car. Adding to it, the LED headlamps and the shark fin antenna, with a revised suspension system, were the features that made it more lovable for the buyers. 

The Xpander was first launched in the year 2020 as a replacement for the original Xpander GLS sport. However, in Indonesia, the Xpander is mainly sold for domestic use only and cannot be done commercially.

Despite the unignorable interior and exterior features, it is enough to turn heads when it’s on the streets.

Main Differences Between Toyota Innova and Mitsubishi Xpander

  1. The Toyota Innova comes with a 2.8 L, 4- cylinder-in-line. Whereas the Mitsubishi Xpander has 1.5 gas, four cylinder-in-line. Engine, which is the most crucial section every buyer is concerned about. If we consider, both have nearly opposite specs. 
  2. For the gear transmissions and speedometer test, we have Toyota Innova with 6-speed transmission. On the other hand, the Mitsubishi Xpander with 4-speed transmission. Both are automatic, of course.
  3. For the fuel efficiency of both the brands, then surprisingly the Toyota Innova gives 25.25kmpl, but Mitsubishi Xpander slightly less by 22.94kmpl. Fuel efficiency is an important parameter from an economical point of view. 
  4. The cubic capacity ( CC) of Toyota Innova is 2393 cc, and for Mitsubishi Xpander, it is as less as 1499cc. It may be disappointing for some high cc lovers.
  5. Toyota Innova provides a better driving facility, whereas the Xpander is much larger and provides better safety. Better user experience is a plus point.
