The main difference between Toyota Innova and Toyota Rush is that Toyota Innova is a minivan that has a bigger size compared to Toyota Rush, which is an SUV car with a size of 4435×1695 mm. The size of the Toyota Innova is 4735×1830 mm. The acceleration of Toyota Innova is a significant plus point whereas the acceleration of Toyota Rush is average and has been criticized for its weak acceleration.

Toyota Innova vs Toyota Rush

Toyota Innova is a minivan or a compact MPV which has been manufactured by the company since 2004. The car is also known as Innova Crysta, Toyota Kijang Innova.

The first generation Toyota Innova, which was available in the market of Indonesia, India, the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, and South Africa, was launched in 2004 and continued till 2014. In 2015 Toyota launched the second generation of Innova in Indonesia and Jakarta.

Toyota Rush is an SUV car that was originally launched as Terios from Daihatsu. Toyota entered an agreement with the company and rebranded Terios as Toyota Rush in 2006.

Currently, it is on sale in more than a hundred countries in South Africa, Southeast Asia, and many more. It is a petrol-only SUV car which is powered by a 1.5-liter engine.

What is Toyota Innova?

Toyota Innova is a minivan that was first produced by Toyota Indonesia in 2004 by Toyota-Astra Motor. The name Innova is derived from innovation.

After that, this vehicle has been manufactured in other countries like Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Middle East, Egypt, Cambodia, Jamaica, Philippines. In Indonesia, the official name of this car is Toyota Kijang Innova, while it is known as Innova Crysta in Thailand and India (since the 2nd generation).

In 2004 AN40 series Innova was launched by a company in Indonesia with the name Kijang Innova. It was the first generation of the Innova car which was manufactured in 2014.

This model was largely popular in the Indian market. It also got popular in the markets of the Philippines, Malaysia, and Taiwan.

The AN140 series Innova was launched in 2015, which is the second generation Innova, in the market of Indonesia and Jakarta. This series of Innova is a completely new vehicle with a new diesel engine and a new platform.

This series of Innova is completely manufactured in India and Indonesia and assembled in the Philippines, Vietnam, and Malaysia.

Innova cars have been criticized for some issues. The car model has a poor NVH, which stands for Noise, Vibration, and Harshness level.

This is probably for the thin metal sheet of the vehicle body. The car owners of Innova have also experienced tire burst incidents.

What is Toyota Rush?

Toyota Rush is a 7-seater SUV car that is a highly anticipated SUV in the Indian market. The car was first launched in 2006 with emerging markets in mind.

The car is currently available in countries like the Philippines, South Africa, Thailand, and Indonesia.

When it comes to delivering road presence Toyota Rush gets off a decent start. The car is quite large as a midsize SUV car. Its length, width, and height are 4435×1695×1705 mm.

The size of this model is appreciable with the rear-end sports tail lights (LED). Internationally the car is only available with a 1.5-liter petrol engine.

The cabin layout of this car is straightforward with a touchscreen infotainment system. The light bridge trim on the doors and dashboard gives a compliment to the black interior of the car.

The steering of the car is tilt-adjustable and it is accompanied by a multi-information display, rev counter, and analog speedometer. The second-row seats of Toyota Rush are adjustable.

The third and last row of the car has cup holders and some additional space. The car is also equipped with LED taillights and headlights.

Safety and protection are the major plus points of Toyota Innova. The car is equipped with a vehicle parking sensor, hill assist, rear camera, and rear parking sensor.

The model also has auto headlamps and fog lights. 

Main Differences Between Toyota Innova and Toyota Rush

  2. Toyota Innova is a minivan, Toyota Rush, on the other hand, is an SUV car.
  3. Toyota Innova is bigger compared to Toyota Rush.
  4. As Toyota Innova is bigger it has a larger fuel capacity-65 liters, whereas Toyota Rush has a fuel capacity of 45 liters.
  5. The interior of the Toyota Innova is equipped with a 9-inch TFT color LCD multi-information display, whereas, the interior of Toyota Rush has a 6.8-inch color LCD.
  6. Toyota Innova is a very popular car model in the Indian market, on the contrary, Toyota Rush is not available in the Indian market yet. 

Conclusion

Both Toyota Innova and Toyota Rush are very famous in the markets where they are available. Toyota Innova is appreciated for its large interior space which gives its rider a comfortable journey.

On the other hand, Toyota Rush for its efficient Climate Control with rear air vents which gets the vehicle cabin cooled fast.

Though Toyota has discontinued the production and sale of Innova Touring Sport Variant in the Indian market, the other variants of Innova are available in the Indian market. But Toyota Rush is not available in the Indian market due to several reasons.

However, it is anticipated that Toyota will soon bring Toyota Rush to the Indian market.
