TV is a short name for the greatest invention of the early twentieth-century television.

What is Analog TV?

TV that came into existence after the second world war were analog ones because the signals embedded in them were analog signals which are in continuous form. Audio and video disturbances occur because of the continuity of the signals.

Screens were CRT (cathode ray tubes) during the introduction of Analog TV, and the method used to display media was firing electrons on the device. After that, electrons reached the phosphors, which assisted in media presentation on the screen.

SD is the format in which we watch media on an analog television. It means analog TVs have smaller screens than digital TVs. Therefore, media quality is poor, and even such videos appear blurry when viewed on large screens.

Analog televisions use a bandwidth compression technique, which implies that the signal’s bandwidth is compressed without affecting how the data appears on the screen.

There was a need for this approach for two reasons: analog signals had lower bandwidth and to display movies without any data loss. 

At first, the media was only available in black and white. Later inventions, however, allowed for the projection of colorful videos and movies on television, using the primary hues of red, green, and blue (RGB). On these televisions, each color required 8 bits.

What is Digital TV?

Woo Paik invented digital television in the early 1990s. The biggest issue that scientists faced throughout the development of the device was bandwidth. These televisions use digital signals that take one value at a time and are not in continuous mode.

Information received on the screen is in the form of binary bits (0 and 1). As a result, there is no external noise when displaying music and video on the screen.

These signals rely on square waves. Digital televisions have a higher resolution than regular televisions. So, all of the media on the screen is in high definition.

Digital televisions have a larger screen than analog televisions, with a 16:9 aspect ratio (four times vertically and three times horizontally). The average screen size is 50-60 inches, and the picture quality is outstanding, putting less strain on the eyes.
