What is Spray Painting?

The device which sprays paint is called a spray gun. It is a large piece of equipment and can either be automatically controlled or hand-held.
The technique of spray paints is evolved from airbrushes which is a small and operated tool that sprays liquid. The model of spray gun resembles the model of the airbrush.
The airbrush model is not an automatic model and requires human control. However, there are numerous types of spray paint guns varying on the density of the paint to be sprayed, coverage of areas, etc.
Spray painting is generally used to cover larger surfaces of areas and they spray an even coating of paint throughout the surface. Spray painting is also considered to be cheaper than the other techniques of painting.
However, spray painting has the drawback of being less resistant to wear and tear as the paint that was sprayed will be wet and can easily react to damages.
Hence, spray painting is one of the effective and efficient ways of painting.
What is Powder Coating?
Powder coating is one of the efficient and effective ways of painting in which the dry powder is applied to the surface using heat. The dry powder will be applied using heat or ultra-violet light to the surface electrostatically.
The dry powder or the paint which is applied to the surface will be generally be made of thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer.
However, the powder coating requires the assistance of human efforts and cannot be done automatically. The technique of powder coating was founded in 1945 by Daniel Gustin.
Powder coating is mostly used to coat the metals in houses and electrical appliances. The powder coating generally gives a hard or a tough finish to the metals.
Since the powder coating is a thick liquid and not wet, it has a higher resistance to wear and tear. Also, the powder coating does not reflect any scratches or other damages to the metals.
With all these outstanding features, the cost of powder coating can be expensive in comparison to the other ways of painting. The disadvantage of powder coating is they cover smaller surface areas.
Hence, powder coating is one of the best choices for coating any metals, electrical, and aluminum appliances in the house.
