Horticulture can be divided into various subdivisions such as pomology, olericulture, floriculture, and landscape Horticulture.  Pomology is concerned with fruit and nut crops, whereas olericulture is concerned with herbaceous plants used in the kitchen, such as tubers,  shoots, foliage, etc. which are all edible.

Horticulture Business: The  Horticulture sector encompasses the cultivation, manufacturing, and transportation of fruits and vegetables, as well as the marketplace for them.

As such, it is a subset of agribusiness and industrialized agriculture. The Floriculture industry, as well as the cultivation and trade of attractive flowers, are sometimes included in industrialized  Horticulture.

2. The main focus in Floriculture is on flowers and foliage whereas  Horticulture focuses on flowers, plants, vegetables, fruits, etc.

3. Floriculture promotes our health by giving therapeutic flowers and plants, but  Horticulture benefits us not only by providing medicinal plants and flowers but also by providing vitamins and important nutrients through its fruits and vegetables.

4. Floriculture only includes flower cultivation whereas,  Horticulture considers all areas of agriculture.

5. In contrast to Floriculture, which requires a large area for plantation, Horticulture can be done in smaller areas as well.
