A burger is a dish that has its origin in America and is thus known as a part of American cuisine. A burger is also known as a hamburger in many parts of the world.

Moreover, if the burger contains cheese then it is known as a cheeseburger. A burger is made by using a piece of a specific bread, which is commonly known as a bun, and then putting the fillings inside the two pieces of bread.

These fillings could be any type of vegetables such as cabbage, capsicum, tomatoes, onions, and more in sliced form. 

Moreover, apart from vegetable filling, there is another important filling that is used in burgers that are popularly known as a patty. These patties are made up of meat.

Depending upon which type of meat is used in the making of a patty and what patty is used in the burger, the variety of burgers varies. However, the most common type of meat that is used in making the patty for burgers is beef.

A pizza is a dish that has its origin in Italy and is thus considered a part of Italian cuisine. A specific type of dough is used to make the base of the pizza.

The readymade base of the pizza is also commonly available in general stores. The base of the pizza when baked in the oven becomes crispy which is known as the crust of the pizza.

Many people prefer their pizza to have a less outer crust, while others might prefer to have a thin base crust or they might prefer thick base crust. Depending upon what type of crust the pizza has, there could be multiple varieties of pizza.

Apart from what type of crust the pizza has, there are several different varieties of pizza which depend upon multiple factors such as toppings to be used, type of cheese to be used, amount of cheese to be used,  size of the pizza, and any other such specific preferences.

Main Differences Between Burger and Pizza

  1. A burger is a part of American cuisine. On the other hand, pizza is a part of Italian cuisine.
  2. A burger is cooked by putting it in the griller. Whereas, pizza is cooked by putting it in the oven, conveyer belt oven or electric oven, or brick oven.
  3. Different vegetables and meat are used as filling inside the burger. On the contrary, different vegetables and meat are used as topping over the pizza.
  4. In the case of a burger, slices of cheese are used which are kept inside the burger. Whereas, cheese is used in the shredded form as a layer of cheese all over the pizza.
  5. The base of the burger is a bread commonly known as a bun. The same bread is used as the top layer of the burger as well. Whereas the base of the pizza is known as the crust.
