Honda and Nissan are two of the oldest sedan car companies that have been competitors since the start. This is because their models mostly coincide in their exterior and also in their upgraded features.
Accord and Altima are two family-based sedan model cars that fight for the position of the most bought cars in the market.
Honda Accord vs Nissan Altima
The difference between Honda Accord and Nissan Altima is that with the cost of the base models being a major variant, the Altima, even though costs less in the market has higher fuel efficiency and mileage while on road. Accord has comparatively lower mileage for the cost at which it is bought. This is a sour point between the two manufacturers.
Honda Accord is a sedan model family-size car enough for a family of four or five members. It costs higher than most sedan cars introduced along with it.
Despite the costly nature, the fuel consumption of the Honda Accord is comparatively low and this is what backs people off from purchasing it. Fuel efficiency is a major deciding factor as filling gas is usually expensive.
Nissan Altima is a sedan car introduced by the car manufacturer Nissan, intended for small families to travel around safely. The sedan price is a bit low for this category of cars when it is put against the high mileage.
Such high mileages at a lower cost massively attract buyers. This is because filling in gas is usually expensive as the prices of fuel are skyrocketing with each passing day.

What is Honda Accord?
The car manufacturers and brand Honda decided to make a sedan model car that would be fit for a small family.
With this intention, in the year 1976, Honda released the first-ever Honda Accord model which was much smaller than the present base model.
The entry-level model of the Honda Accord is called the LX level or Honda Accord LX.
This base model was considered expensive at that time for the size and features that it offered.
It had a 2.4 liter I-4 engine (in line 4) that has a high 177 horsepower with 6,500 rotations per minute.
This engine capacity is pretty high for a base model sedan car introduced in the year 1976.
It has a manual transmission gearbox with a classic 5 different speed gears with manually changing to the reverse.
Gearbox has been rated as one of the best in the market for manual cars due to its ease of shifting and smooth motion.
For a sedan that has a high market price and also is manual, Honda Accord has low mileage or fuel efficiency value.
It is 25 miles for every gallon of fuel it consumes. Even though petrol prices might not have been as high back in the days, it is still pretty low for the cost of the car.
The braking system is of the top level even in the base model LX with a four-wheel lock alignment system.
All four wheels have a locking disc attached. The wheels are alloy and are about 16 inches which is the standard tire size for sedans.
The curb weight of the Honda Accord LX is 3230 lbs. This is the rightly balanced weight that was required at the time of release.
Almost all features that are used to define Honda Accord are its base model features but that doesn’t mean newer upgrades have been made.
So far, Honda Accord has 3 different models that were released over some time with proper time gaps carried out in an efficient business strategy.
The model levels are the base model of LX, the EX, and the latest EX-L.
As the models upgraded, a few features were made premia such as the interior of the car including the upholstery and the settings.
Newer navigation systems were added in by the time EX-L was introduced.
What is Nissan Altima?
Nissan is a more recent car brand and a major manufacturer of vehicles that have gained popularity with their sedan model cars.
The Nissan Altima is a basic car introduced for family use in the year 1992.
It has a standard I4 engine with a higher range of 2.5 liters and 175 horsepower and a low engine revival rotations at 5600 rotations per minute.
Nissan Altima comes at a lower cost than most sedans at the time of its introduction.
Despite this low cost, it had a high mileage for its base model and the fuel efficiency of the car gave it a great market presence.
It had a fuel consumption of 27 miles for every gallon it consumed. This was a huge value at the time of the car introduction.
This boosted the car’s ratings among the people despite a few of its other flows in the car interior.
The four-wheel disc brake locking system made sure of safety during the application of sudden brakes or accidents.
It has a regular 16-inch alloy wheel which was categorized into the all-season tire type.
The gear system is not manual and therefore is automatic. This provided ease of use to the users.
The curb weight of the Nissan Altima is 3180 lbs.
Most of the features used to describe Nissan Altima are of the base model released in 1992. The later models have plenty of upgraded improvements.
In general and so far, Nissan Altima has four models of cars released.
The first is the base model 2.5, then came the 2.5s and the third model was a 3.5 SR which had the V6 engine with the greatest efficiency.
The fourth model released was an eco-friendly one which when introduced, came out as a hybrid model.
The upgrading in the later models includes a better audio and radio control system along with USB ports, improvements in the steering wheel alignment, etc.
