Difference Between Hulu and Fubo

Nowadays, numerous platforms provide people with their favorite TV series and movies anytime without any delay. These platforms are widely known as Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms or as “online streaming” platforms. One of these OTT platforms is Hulu which provides its subscribers with the above-mentioned content. But until 2015 no streaming platform provided people with sports content then Fubo was launched which widely provides sports content.

The platform provides a huge collection of movies and television series/shows from various networks like FX, CBS, ABC, and NBC and Hulu original content also. The platform, Hulu, is mainly owned by The Walt Disney Company, along with NBCUniversal of Comcast holding a minor part. 

Fubo is a streaming TV platform of America. The platform provides its service in Canada, the United States, and Spain. The platform mainly focuses on live sports distributive channels. The channels that are offered by the platform are MLB, NBA, NFL, EPL, NHL, CPL, and international soccer, plus news, television shows, and films.

What is Hulu?

News Corporation and NBCUniversal together established the platform, Hulu, as a joint venture on October 27, 2007. Hulu became the first platform for streaming the movies and shows which added “Plus” to its name. All the seasons of TV programs, even new episodes and movies are streamed on this platform. The platform was named “Hulu Plus” which streamed. The company introduced the platform with Live TV.

As of 2021, the platform has 43.8 million subscribers. The subscribers of this platform enjoy a commercial-free experience. The user can use Hulu on various screens, and the other five people can also have access to your account with their profiles. Every profile is unique from the profile of others, yet they don’t charge any extra price. Even the kids can have their profiles on Hulu so that the younger are restricted from adult content and can only use the content that is kid-friendly. The content that is provided on Hulu is 100 percent legal. The platform, Hulu, also provides a good amount of its original content.

If a new person joins this platform, he might find the platform to be tricky, however, he can always catch up with its usage and functions. The services provided by Hulu are also available in Japan. The platform added quality to its platform that the users can now watch the content offline as well, this quality was launched in 2019. The users can download up to 25 movies/tv series over five unique devices and have 30 days to view their downloaded content. 

What is Fubo?

Fubo was launched on 1 January 2015. It was founded by David Gandler, Alberto Horihuela, and Sung Ho Choi. It was launched as a streaming service for soccer. In 2017, the platform expanded and switched to a platform that would provide services for all sports.

The platform, Fubo, bridged the gap between traditional streams’ benefits and live TV’s actuality. As the platform widely covers sports content it also covers entertainment content like TV shows, movies, and news. The platform is prominently identical to TV cable. The platform also has the capability of recording live content. Fubo charges half of the cost of packages of cable.

The platform majorly offers sports networks like CBS Sports Network, ESPN, FOX Sports 1, and 2. The platform offers territorial networks as well. The platform is headquartered in New York City, United States. As of January 2022, the platform has about 1 million users. In 2022, FuboTV stated that the Premier League, England’s top soccer league, will be streamed in Canada.

Main Differences Between Hulu and FuboTV

  1. The platform, Hulu, provides offline streaming but Fubo doesn’t provide the service of streaming content offline. 
  2. The platform, Hulu, categorizes its content into “Entertainment”, “Kids”, “News” and others. Fubo divides its contents into “Sports”, “Series”, “Movies” and “Channels”. 
  3. Hulu provides more than 65+ channels while Fubo provides 100+ channels. 
  4. Hulu provides its own original content which you can not find on other platforms whereas Fubo does not provide its original content. 
  5. Hulu provides age-restricted content for kids under “kids profile” but Fubo does not. 

Conclusion

Both the online streaming platforms, Hulu and Fubo are unique. If you have a large family you can take the subscriptions with Fubo as it provides numerous channels. If you’re a person who likes to travel to remote areas where internet facilities are not available you might go with Hulu as the platform provides offline streaming as well for its channels. One can always download their favorite movies, TV series on both platforms.
