Microsoft Bing is a search engine. It is owned and was launched by Microsoft on 3 June 2009.

It is used for searching and browsing various content on the internet, and it also includes various features like image search, maps, videos, etc. It was developed by using ASP.NET.

During the release of the search engine and after that, several notable upgrades were introduced.

New index searching technology known as the “Tiger” was introduced by the company later on. Apart from that, for delivering more applicable search results to the users, they also introduced an upgraded back-end search infrastructure.

In the year 2016, the BitFunnel search engine indexing and its algorithm and other features were made open source.

Microsoft Edge is a type of web browser. It consists of a search engine. Initially, it was built with a Microsoft browser engine known as the EdgeHTML.

They used the Chakra JavaScript engine. The engine is now known as the Microsoft Edge Legacy.

Later on, the company decided to remake the browser in Chromium-based. Other specifications included the involvement of Blink and V8 engines.

The web browser replaced Internet Explorer 11 and Internet Explorer Mobile. It was introduced to a number of operating systems like Windows 10, Windows 10 Mobile, Windows 11, and other Xbox One and Xbox Series X

and its Series S Console.

For backward compatibility, initially, Microsoft announced that Microsoft Edge would support the MSHTML browser engine.
