What are Scabies?

Scabies is an infection that is caused by a parasitic mite feeding human blood and living under the skin of humans. Because of this, it is called a parasitic mite.

The infections lead to skin redness and irritation at night. The causing agent burrows itself under the layer of the skin and lays eggs.

The infection caused by the scabies mite can be diagnosed by a physical examination performed by the doctor or by examining the skin scraping under the microscope for the mites’ eggs, and faeces, or for its presence.

What are Bed Bugs?

Bed bugs are an insect that feeds on human blood along with other mammals like dogs and cats. They are parasitic as they live in dark or dry places like on the surface of furniture, seams of the mattress, bed frame, curtains, used clothes, pillow covers, sheets, etc. 

The scientific name of the insect infecting the disease is known as Cimex lectularius and Cimex hemipterus. The first species of the insect can be found in the temperate parts, while the second species of the insect can be found in the tropical parts of the world. 

After the biting of the bed bug, the symptoms like red spots, skin irritation, blisters, pimples, or swelling can be seen. These are noticeable after 10 days and become itchy after some time.

The treatment for bed bugs involves the oral intake of medicine like antihistamines and corticosteroids cream. Still, after taking the treatment, it takes approximately 10 days to get away with the sore of bed bugs.
