What is WandaVision?

WandaVision is based on Marvel comics, and it is the first miniseries that was aired on television. It was produced by marvel studios in MCU. This series was with the continuity of the film franchise.

The story of WandaVision continues from where the last film, i.e. Avengers Endgame (2019), ended. As the name suggests, it features the two most important characters, i.e., Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Vision.

The genre of WandaVision includes Mystery, Romance, Drama, Superhero etc. The story opens after the three weeks of Endgame, where Wanda and Vision are living in a suburban town in New Jersey.

They both try to conceal their identity. But as the story progresses, they can see changes and some suspicious activity, both sense that something is not right. 

It came in 9 episodes with a running time of 30-50 minutes. The making of WandaVision began in 2019, but it was released in January 2021. Other than Wanda and Vision, it has other characters as well, like Monica Rambeau, Agatha Harkness, Sharon & Todd Davis, Jimmy Woo etc.

What is Wanda?

Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch, appear as a character in Marvel comics. She appears in Marvel cinematic universe as well with the same name. She made her first appearance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014).

She has also become the main component of the MCU as well as one of the Avengers. She is famous for her Chaos Magic. In MCU, she is coupled with Vision, who is her former love.

Wanda is depicted as a Sokovian refugee. She, along with her twin brother Pietro was captivated by Hydra so that they can experiment on both of them.

Her telekinetic energy to easily manipulate others and Mind Stone gives her power, also known as Chaos Magic. Earlier, she conflicted with the Avengers, but eventually, she got on their side.

Sword, for the first time, appeared in Astonishing X-Men, which is a part of Marvel Comics. The sword was originally set up as an offshoot of Shield. The conflict between Sword and Shield started when Nick Fury departed Shield.

The relationship between the two organizations became strained. The head of Sword is Abigail Brand, and the Peak is the headquarters of Sword, which is an orbital space station.

The main function of Sword is to counter the terrorism taking place in outer space, just as Shield does on Earth. It is also an intelligence agency and deals with the threats of extraterrestrial organisms.

In MCU, it made its first appearance with WandaVision in 2021. The Sword storyline has come in different volumes like Unstoppable, Secret Invasion, Dark Reign, Sword Volumes 1& 2, roster Volumes 1&2 etc.

Sword also formed a type of mutant technology called The Six. To function at its full capacity, it works in two stages. The first stage is called Translocation, and the second stage is called Retrieval. The six include The Control, The Power, The Shield, The Guide, The Eye and The Foundry.
