What is Nintendo Wii U?
Nintendo Wii U is a popular game console of home video which is a successor of Wii. The video gaming console is the first 8th generation that could compete with Sony’s PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox One.
It was first released in the year 2012. Nintendo Wii U is also popularly known as Project Café, which is the code name of the gaming console.
The developer is Nintendo IRD. There are various manufacturers of the console like Mitsumi, Nintendo, and even Foxconn.
Nintendo Wii U was discontinued on 31st January of the year 2017. The console supports physical as well as digital media like Wii U Optical Disc and digital distribution that is Nintendo eShop.
The operating system of the console is Wii U system software. The CPU provided is 1.24 GHz with Tri-core IBM PowerPC which is known as “espresso”.
The console has storage of two types of internal flash memory, which are 8 GB in the basic set and 32 GB in the deluxe set.
The memory of the Nintendo Wii U is 2 GB DDR3. The storage can also be removed as it has an SD or SDHC card and USB storage device which can support up to 2 TB.
The display of the console is in video output formats like composite video or component video. In the composite video, it is either of S video or RGB SCARY and in the component video, it is of either YPBPR or D-Terminal type.
The graphics are of 550 MHz AMD type with Radeon-based “Latte”. The sound system has a 5.1 linear PCM analog stereo. The camera supported in Nintendo Wii U is 1.3 megapixels. It also has a resistive touchscreen touchpad.

PS Vita stands for PlayStation Vita which is a gaming console that is handheld video type. The development and marketing of PS Vita are done by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
The first launch of the gaming console was on 17th December in 2011. It was initially released in Japan and was later distributed in other international territories like North America, Europe, and others.
PS Vita is considered the successor of the PlayStation portable. It plays a vital part of the PlayStation brand in gaming devices. The main composition of the PS Vita is Nintendo 3DS.
The PlayStation is manufactured mainly by Sony electronics. The usage of the PlayStation was discontinued from first March in the year 2019.
PS Vita has an operating system of PlayStation Vita System Software. It supports various types of media like digital distribution through PlayStation Network as well as PS Vita cards.
The CPU of the console is of Quad-core ARM of Cortex-A9 MPCore. The memory supported by the console is 512 MB RAM and 128 MB VRAM.
The storage provided in the console is of one GB flash memory. The storage type is completely removable as it has a proprietary PS Vita memory card in various variants like 4, 8, 16, 32, and even up to 64 GB.
The display is of 5-inch width touch capacitive screen and resolution of 960 × 554 qHD.

- Games from various continents cannot be played on Nintendo Wii U while PS Vita allows games from various continents as it is region-free.
- The thickness of the Nintendo Wii U is 266.7 mm while the thickness of the PS Vita is 18.6 mm.
- The width of the Nintendo Wii U is 172.72 mm while the width of the PS Vita is 182 mm.
