Google Nest Wi-fi is a home mesh Wi-Fi system consisting of a designated Nest Wi-fi router and individual access points. It was then obtained by Google as a high-tech product, which could do wonders in accessing media, managing users’ tasks, and planning their day out merely by using voice features. 

In similar ways, Amazon Eero was initially developed by the Eero company. However, it was purchased by Amazon in 2020 for Amazon mesh Wifi system development.

What is Google Nest?

Google Nest is a smart home technology developed by Google for helping users do things like access media, manage their tasks, and plan their day using only their voice.

Initially, it was Nest Labs by Tony Fadell and Matt Rogers, who founded this new innovation. And in 2014, Google had acquired Nest Labs for millions, thereby every new technology developed under Nest Labs to come under Google. 

This super-cool product enables listening to music or any type of media(music, news, radio, podcasts, audiobooks) by just syncing one’s Google Account to the device.

Besides, it has a built-in system to control TVs and speakers in the home. Sensory, programmable, self-learning, and Wi-Fi capable, the product is on the cutting edge of smart devices.

Moreover, Google Nest offers 120-300 square meters of WiFi reach alongside the main router & two extenders.

What is Amazon Eero?

Amazon Eero is the first Wifi system mesh developed by Amazon. Not only does it render wifi but it also acts as a smart-home automatic hub.

It took Eero four years to develop the world’s first whole-home WiFi system, and the company has grown considerably since 2014.

CEO Nick Weaver of eero established the first- set-up in 2016. In 2019, Amazon bought Eero company for a reasonable price, and since then, the product is called Amazon Eero.

Therefore, the first mesh to be released under the name Amazon Eero was in 2020.  

Speaking of Amazon Eero specs, it is very much easy to install, plus has a built-in Zigbee radio, and works with Alexa. Furthermore, it offers a wide coverage ranging from 140 to 420 square meters.

On the other hand, Amazon Eero is quite expensive, might require a subscription for anti-malware and parental control tools, doesn’t come with USB ports and QoS.

This mesh router system renders wifi at speeds up to 900 Mbps for wired connections and 500 Mbps in the case of wireless. It is suitable for office set-ups since it is equipped with 6 ethernet ports in total.

Despite being a little pricey, Amazon Eero offers a lot of customization, support, and integration.

  1. Google Nest was launched by Google as a product line for smart home automation and also connects WiFi in any type of setup. Whereas, Amazon Eero was introduced by Amazon as a wireless WiFi connection router that can be installed anywhere and anytime. 
  2. Speaking of features, Google Nest is designed in a simple way that looks like Home speakers, with no USB ports, an in-built Google assistant, attached mute switch in the back of the mesh. On the other hand, Amazon Eero is designed as a compact router that is portable, has two USB Type-C ports, and connects third-party devices via BlueTooth. 
  3. Google Nest is in-built with the WPA3 security system in its product line. Nevertheless, Amazon eero comes with the WPA2 security system.
  4. Google Nest covers a limited range of connectivity 120-300 square meters. Albeit, Amazon eero coverage range is wide with 140-420 square meters.
