Dell docking WD15 allows you to connect all of your electronic devices to your computer with the help of a USB-C cable. You can also use Thunderbolt3 as an alternative to the USB-C cable.

It has 1 mini-DisplayPort, which supports DP 1.2, 1 VGA port, and 1 HDMI, which supports the HDMI 1.4a version.

The network port in Dell dock WD15 is a Gigabit Ethernet, i.e., RJ-45. It has 5 USB ports. It has 1 USB 3.0 port present at the rear end along with 2 USB 2.0.

The maximum resolution it supports with the various displays are:

Dell Docking Station WD19 will use a single USB-C cable to connect all of your electronic devices to your laptop. It will allow you to gain access to your keyboard, hard drive, monitors, speakers, etc., without the need of having to plug every individual one into your laptop.

It consists of 2 audio ports, namely, 1 audio line-out and 1 headphone and microphone combo. It has around 3 video ports. It has 1 HDMI, which is the HDMI 2.0, 2 DisplayPort 1.4, and 1 USB Type-C or Thunderbolt 3, which also supports DisplayPort 1.4.

There is 1 USB-C 3.1, which is present at the front, along with 1 USB 3.1 with PowerShare, and 1 Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-C present at the rear, along with 2 USB 3.1 Gen1 ports.

The maximum resolution it supports with the various displays are:

  • Single Display of 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz
  • Single Display of 2560 x 1440 at 60 Hz
  • Dual Display of 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz

To fully support and get the maximum use out of the Dell dock WD19, you need to install the Basic Input/Output Computer (BIOS), the chipset, and a video card, also known as Graphics Processing Unit.
